The Shoppes on South Jefferson location is set to open three new businesses in Cookeville, including Urgent Team

(June 22, 2018) New businesses are heading to Cookeville as soon as next week, as the Shoppes on South Jefferson location is set for its first opening on June 29.

“We have three tenants locked in at this time, which we’re really excited about,” said Jonathon McNabb, co-owner of the Shoppes on South Jefferson. “Those are T-Mobile, Urgent Team and Fire and Ice.”

This will be the first Cookeville location for T-Mobile, and the first store to open at the Shoppes, according to McNabb. Urgent Team is an urgent care clinic that operates out of Nashville, with numerous locations across the state and southeast. Fire and Ice is a spa which, according to McNabb, will bring some interesting things to Cookeville.

The building is basically completed at this point and owners are awaiting to hear from the city to finalize paperwork. McNabb says that there will be more coming.

“We are currently in discussion with some potential tenants,” McNabb said. “As far as naming those, I can’t comment on that as of right now.”

The Shoppes on South Jefferson location is a recently built, 18,600 square foot retail space at 650 South Jefferson. The project is one of the many new locations for businesses in Cookeville that have been built over the last year. In 2017, commercial permit applications totaled around $15.9 million.
