Dalton, GA, (March 16, 2020) – Physicians Care, opened today at 1209 W. Walnut Ave., Suite 1, next to Pearle Vision. The walk-in family and urgent care center will be open seven days a week.
“Many times, when people feel unwell or have an injury, they are unsure whether to go to the emergency room (ER) or wait to see their primary care doctor,” said Ellis Harris, Urgent Team Division Vice President. “Physicians Care centers fill this gap by providing quality walk-in healthcare outside of regular physician hours – and at a fraction of the time and cost of an ER visit.”
The center offers evening hours during the work week. For added convenience, walk-ins are welcome or online scheduling is available with Hold My Spot®.

Leading the healthcare team are nurse practitioners Stacey Sweklo and Allison Pledger. Sweklo graduated with a Master of Science in Nursing from Southern Adventist University in Collegedale, Tennessee. Her nursing experience includes working with patients of all ages across urgent care, emergency department and surgical settings. Pledger earned a Master of Science in Nursing from Columbus State University in Georgia and has experience caring for patients in both immediate care and emergency department settings.
The center is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and Saturday and Sunday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Most insurance plans, TRICARE and VA, Medicare and Medicaid, as well as cash and credit cards, are accepted.
