Huntsville Hospital Urgent Care Centers Now Open

Huntsville, AL., (December 2, 2019) – The recent joint venture between Huntsville Hospital and Urgent Team Family of Urgent Care & Walk-In Centers, as of today, delivers five Huntsville Hospital Urgent Care locations to communities across northern Alabama:

  • Decatur                  1115 Beltline Rd., SE, near Kroger Fuel
  • Florence                 202 Cox Creek Pkwy, near Taco Bell
  • Huntsville               900 Bob Wallace Ave., corner of L&N Dr., and Bob Wallace Ave.
  • Madison                 300 Hughes Rd., near Publix
  • Muscle Shoals       210 Avalon Ave., across from the Walmart entrance

The centers will continue to provide urgent and family care, as well as wellness services on a walk-in basis, or for added convenience, patients can schedule a same day or next day visit online with Hold My Spot™. The centers are open seven days a week and treat the following non-life-threatening injuries, illnesses and conditions:

• Asthma and allergies

• Ear and eye injuries

• Flu, colds and viral illnesses

• Skin conditions, including burns

• Bites, stings, allergic reactions

Physician Marcia Mierez, DO, has joined the Madison health care team. With 15 years’ experience practicing family and urgent care medicine, Mierez most recently served as a Physician at Urgent Med Care of Madison. She graduated from The University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and spent her early career in family practice in Florida and Alabama.

Additionally, nurse practitioner Desiree Washburn has joined the health care team in Decatur. Washburn graduated with a Doctorate of Nursing Practice from The University of Alabama. She most recently worked for more than 10 years in the emergency department of Island Medical Management at Cullman Regional Medical Center. Her prior experience includes serving as a nurse practitioner at Hanceville Acute Care and Wellness Center.
