Little Rock, Ark., (February 24, 2020) – Baptist Health Urgent Care, opened today at 14524 Cantrell Rd., next to Señor Tequila Restaurant in west Little Rock.
“Many times, when people feel unwell or have an injury, they are unsure whether to go to the emergency room (ER) or wait to see their primary care doctor,” said Mike Dupuis, Urgent Team Division Vice President. “Baptist Health Urgent Care centers fill this gap by providing quality walk-in healthcare outside of regular physician hours – and at a fraction of the time and cost of an ER visit.”
The centers are open seven days a week and offer evening hours during the workweek, for added convenience. Walk-ins are welcome or online scheduling is available with Hold My Spot®.

Leading the healthcare team are nurse practitioners Heath Houtchens and Deshondra Ingram. Houtchens graduated with a Master of Science in Nursing from Harding University Carr College of Nursing in Searcy. His recent experience includes post-surgical care for orthopedic and spine patients. Ingram, who earned a Master of Science in Nursing from Walden University in Minneapolis, brings experience treating patients of all ages with a variety of healthcare needs.
There are eight Baptist Health Urgent Care centers throughout the state. All of the centers are open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Most insurance plans, including TRICARE and VA, Medicare and Medicaid, as well as cash and credit card are accepted.
