For years, you haven’t had time to do the things you’ve always wanted. Maybe you were busy working a full-time job or you had family obligations that kept you on your feet all the time. Now that you’ve retired and your kids are grown, you just want to relax. And that’s fine, to an extent.
What you don’t want to do is develop a sedentary lifestyle. A sedentary lifestyle, also known as an inactive lifestyle, develops when you spend more time sitting or lying down and less time being active. A sedentary lifestyle significantly increases your risk for health issues, including a premature death.
