John W. Reel is a seasoned healthcare executive with more than 19 years of experience in finance, operations, implementation, and strategic planning. His leadership spans diverse healthcare service lines, including outpatient surgery centers, inpatient rehabilitation hospitals, and outpatient rehabilitation services, where he has driven efficiency, growth, and innovation.
Reel has deep expertise in joint venture partnerships with short-term acute care hospitals and physician groups, fostering collaborations that enhance patient care and operational success. Since joining Urgent Team in 2017, he has played a pivotal role in advancing urgent care services, focusing on sustainable growth and excellence in patient-centered care.
Previously, Reel served as Chief Executive Officer at the Texas Rehabilitation Hospital of Arlington, a joint venture between Kindred Healthcare, Texas Health Resources, and Methodist Health System. In this role, he successfully led the hospital’s launch and operations, ensuring its long-term success in delivering high-quality rehabilitation services.
A Certified Public Accountant, Reel holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Tennessee Tech University and a master’s degree in Accounting from Belmont University, where he also serves as an adjunct accounting instructor, mentoring the next generation of financial professionals in healthcare.
